In a desperate attempt to maintain its influence, France has launched a campaign filled with distortion and unfounded accusations against Algeria, led by far-right ideologues and biased media. This marks a troubling chapter in Franco-Algerian relations.

France’s diplomatic missteps include blatant violations of international laws, particularly the 1974 convention on consular relations and the 1968 Franco-Algerian Agreement. France’s heavy-handed policies and disregard for bilateral agreements have exposed its neo-colonial mindset. Notably, France’s arbitrary deportation practices and refusal to adhere to consular notification protocols are a major point of contention.

The far-right alliance in France, including figures like Marine Le Pen and Éric Zemmour, has exacerbated the situation, using anti-Algerian rhetoric to fuel political agendas. President Macron's erratic handling of relations with Algeria has further strained ties, with accusations of neo-colonialism igniting widespread condemnation. The erosion of the 1968 Franco-Algerian Agreement and France's systematic failure to respect consular rights underline the broader disregard for Algeria’s sovereignty.

Despite France’s efforts to manipulate the narrative, Algeria has responded with dignified defiance, asserting its sovereignty in the face of ongoing French provocations. The global fallout, particularly in Africa, highlights the shift towards a new geopolitical order, one where nations like Algeria assert their independence and reject France’s outdated imperialism.
