Arab-Islamic Emergency Summit in Doha
The Arab-Islamic emergency summit officially opened on Monday in Doha, with Algeria represented by Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf in his capacity as Special Representative of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
The summit was convened to examine the Zionist aggression against Qatar and address the broader developments in the Middle East. Participants from the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) sought to strengthen a unified position and adopt a draft declaration condemning the September 9 attack.
According to the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the summit carries symbolic weight, demonstrating Arab and Islamic solidarity with Qatar and rejecting what it described as the terrorism of the Zionist entity. The aggression, which targeted the residences of Hamas leaders, was strongly condemned.
A preparatory meeting of foreign ministers was held on Sunday in Doha to set the stage for the summit’s deliberations.
Outlook
The discussions highlight Algeria’s active diplomacy in the Arab and Islamic world, reinforcing unity with Qatar and supporting coordinated action amid regional challenges.
