
On Friday, Lebanese media reported that Hezbollah’s security units arrested an Algerian content creator, Belkacem Ben Arous, and his Italian wife, Esther, on espionage charges. They were detained near a Hezbollah complex but were later released after investigations proved their innocence.
According to Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar, the couple was apprehended last Thursday while secretly photographing from a taxi near the Sayyid al-Shuhada complex in the Ruwais area. During the arrest, they were found with a GO PRO camera equipped with GPS, Bluetooth, and an internet connection, capable of remote control. Following their detention, Hezbollah security handed them over to General Security for further investigation. The content creator, known as Kasosest on social media, is recognized for his travel and cultural content, primarily promoting tourism in Algeria.
After thorough interrogations, the couple was released, with both proving their innocence. The Algerian content creator’s s goal remains to encourage tourism and cultural exploration in Algeria, continuing his efforts to promote the country’s s beauty.
