Algiers - The Directorate General of Customs (DGD) has announced the launch of a new information system specifically designed for travelers, enabling them to access customs passage services for vehicles and declarations, as well as online services for money and values, as stated in a press release on Friday.
The unveiling of the new Algerian Customs information system took place on Thursday evening during the commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the November 1, 1954 revolution, themed "glorious November, loyalty, and renewal." The event was presided over by the Director General of Customs, General Major Abdelhafid Bakhouche, in the presence of senior DGD officials.
This significant anniversary served as an occasion for the Directorate General of Customs to introduce the new information system tailored for travelers, granting them access to customs passage services for vehicles and declarations, as well as online services for money and values, the press release further explained.
As part of the celebration, the DGD released the "Customs User Charter" and an updated version of the "Exporter Guide" in three languages: Arabic, French, and English, which can be downloaded from the official DGD website.
In alignment with other state institutions and the Algerian populace, the external customs services held a commemorative ceremony to mark this pivotal event symbolizing the resistance against the oppressive French colonial rule by our forefathers.
The event program included the reading of the November 1, 1954 proclamation and the hoisting of the Algerian flag on November 1, 2024, at midnight (00:00).
The DGD reiterated "its dedication to honoring all national celebrations and events, aiming to impart the noble lessons derived from the heroic deeds of the generation of the glorious revolution, encouraging individuals to emulate their honorable legacy and uphold the oath for which the martyrs paid the ultimate sacrifice to ensure the everlasting memory of the November epic, portraying the resilience of a united and courageous nation that, united under the banner of national unity, made substantial sacrifices to reclaim full sovereignty over its sacred land," as stated by the same source.
