A delegation from Algeria’s National People’s Assembly (APN) began participating Wednesday in the Pan-African Parliament (PAP) committee meetings in Midrand, South Africa, scheduled to run until October 3, according to a statement from the assembly.
The Algerian delegation includes Mr. Fateh Boutbig, chairman of the El Moustakbal parliamentary group and member of the PAP’s Justice and Human Rights Committee, Ms. Behdja Lammali, chair of the PAP’s Transport, Industry, Communications, Energy, Science, and Technology Committee, and Mr. Mohamed Sokras, member of the PAP’s Rules, Privileges, and Discipline Committee.
The APN highlighted that this participation reflects Algeria’s commitment to strengthening parliamentary diplomacy and reinforcing its presence within African institutions. The delegation’s role is to contribute to debates on key continental issues and promote Algeria’s positions on matters of common interest.
By engaging in the PAP’s committee work, Algeria aims to bolster cooperation with African countries and ensure its active involvement in shaping decisions that impact the continent’s future.
