Fiat has officially ended production of the iconic 500 at its Tafraoui plant, shifting assembly lines to the new Grande Panda to meet evolving market demand.
The chapter of the Fiat 500, one of the most recognizable city cars, has closed in Algeria. Production at the Tafraoui factory will now focus entirely on the Fiat Grande Panda, a larger, more versatile model positioned to appeal to today’s Algerian drivers.
Smooth Transition for Fiat Customers
Fiat confirmed that existing orders for the Fiat 500 will still be delivered on schedule, ensuring no customer commitments are disrupted. The manufacturer emphasized that the transition is gradual and carefully planned, not abrupt.
Customers already on the waiting list for a Fiat 500 will be contacted by Fiat representatives and given the option to switch their reservation to the Grande Panda. The brand presents this model as the spearhead of its new era in Algeria.
Grande Panda: Fiat’s New Strategy in Algeria
The Grande Panda promises more space and adaptability than its predecessor, aligning with changing consumer expectations in the Algerian market. Alongside the vehicle launch, Fiat will modernize its ordering process.
Future buyers will be able to register and order the new model exclusively via the official website www.fiat.dz, with the launch date to be announced soon.
The replacement of the Fiat 500 with the Grande Panda at Tafraoui is more than a model shift—it signals Fiat’s industrial strategy of renewal and adaptation to local demand. Algerian motorists can now look forward to a new chapter defined by modernity, versatility, and digital-first purchasing.
