Slovenian Ambassador Highlights Strengthening Bilateral Relations with Algeria and Expanding Cooperation


Slovenian Ambassador to Algeria

Algiers - Ms. Urska Kramburger Mendak, the Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to Algeria, stated on Monday that the reciprocal establishment of embassies between Algeria and Slovenia had contributed to enhancing the bilateral relations between the two countries.


Following the presentation of her credentials to President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, she expressed her pride in being the first Slovenian ambassador to Algeria and affirmed her commitment to fulfilling her duties with pride and dedication.


Ms. Urska Kramburger Mendak also extended her congratulations to the President on his re-election for a second term.


The Slovenian diplomat described the relations between Algeria and Slovenia as "excellent", highlighting the increased bilateral cooperation and trade, particularly in their successful collaboration as non-permanent members of the United Nations Security Council.


She emphasized that with the simultaneous opening of embassies in both capitals, Algeria has become a significant partner for Slovenia, marking a new phase in their relations. Ms. Urska Kramburger Mendak pointed out that the ongoing collaboration in the energy sector is a promising start for a broader partnership aimed at supporting economic growth. She expressed Slovenia's interest in further cooperation in cultural, academic, and sports domains.

The Slovenian ambassador extended an official invitation from her country's president to President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to visit Slovenia.


In this context, Ms. Urska Kramburger Mendak underscored the alignment of Slovenia and Algeria on various international issues, such as the Middle East, advocating for addressing the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza and safeguarding civilians.
