Tassili Airlines has officially announced its inaugural Hajj flight program for the 2025 season, marking a historic milestone for the airline.
This major announcement was made by the company’s Managing Director, Abdessamad Ourihane, during a hearing before the APN Transport and Telecommunications Committee.
Special Flights for Hajj Pilgrims
For the first time, Tassili Airlines will provide direct flights to the holy sites for Algerian pilgrims during the Hajj season. The airline’s General Manager highlighted that this initiative demonstrates Tassili Airline’s adaptability to meet national needs while expanding its services and maintaining quality standards.
Following the success of its 2024 Umrah program, the airline is committed to supporting the transport of pilgrims to Saudi Arabia, enhancing its service offerings and providing a smoother travel experience for Algerians undertaking the sacred pilgrimage.
Until now, Air Algérie, Saudia, and FlyNas have shared the responsibility of transporting Algerian pilgrims. Tassili Airline’s entry into this market will provide an additional option, improving capacity and service diversity for religious travelers.
Expanded Domestic and International Network
Abdessamad Ourihane also shared key updates on the airline’s growth. Domestically, the company recently launched new routes, such as the Algiers-In Salah-Tamnrasset and Algiers-Béchar connections, both operating twice a week. Additionally, a new route from Tindouf to Algiers has been introduced, with weekly flights every Sunday, aimed at promoting regional economic and tourism development.
On the international front, Tassili Airlines has expanded its seating capacity on routes to major French cities, including Strasbourg, Nantes, and Paris, catering to the Algerian diaspora’s growing demand.
Collaboration with Air Algérie
Ourihane emphasized the airline’s collaboration with other players in the aviation sector, notably its complementary relationship with Air Algérie. The two carriers recently signed a cooperation agreement to strengthen domestic and international connectivity.
“This partnership aims to enhance the quality of air services and foster better coordination in Algeria’s air transport network”, said Ourihane.
