President Abdelmadjid Tebboune led discussions on several key sectors, according to an official statement.
The meeting focused on a draft law on wakfs and presentations on the progress of the renewable energy development program, an update on the local assembly of smartphone project, and the green dam, among other topics.
Key Directives and Instructions:
Wakfs Bill: The President has instructed the Government to postpone the bill for further study and enrichment in line with new management rules for this crucial sector.
Digitization Progress: President Tebboune expressed satisfaction with the efforts to increase the rate of digitization across various sectors. He called for enhanced interactivity and synergy between ministerial departments, particularly in relation to economic policy, and urged for more effort and efficiency in implementing guidelines aimed at accelerating digitization.
Renewable Energy Development: The President underscored the importance of developing renewable energies. He emphasized the need for detailed technical mechanisms and means to achieve an energy transition that takes into account the state’s higher interests and currently available energies.
Local Smartphone Production: President Tebboune has ordered the drafting of specifications for launching cell phone assembly projects in Algeria. He encouraged investment in the smartphone sector through the integration of young Algerian specialists to develop their experience and consolidate their expertise, within the framework of partnerships with both domestic and foreign operators.
Green Dam: The President has ordered the drafting of specifications for the rehabilitation of the Green Dam. He called for the creation of youth enterprises in the fields of reforestation, irrigation, maintenance, and monitoring of operations. Furthermore, he urged the inclusion of dune regions - sites affected by the phenomenon of advancing sand - in the generalization of the Green Dam trees.
