Former Minister of Mujahideen Tayeb Zitouni Passes Away at 69

Former Minister of Mujahideen Tayeb Zitouni passed away today, Monday, at the age of 69. Current Minister Abdelmalek Tacherift offered heartfelt condolences to his family and comrades.

The Ministry of Mujahideen and Rights Holders announced the passing of Tayeb Zitouni, a devoted statesman who dedicated his life to preserving Algeria’s national memory and honoring the legacy of its heroes.

In an official message, Minister Abdelmalek Tacherift expressed his deep sorrow and extended condolences on behalf of all ministry officials and staff. The message quoted a verse from the Holy Qur’an:“يَا أَيَّتُهَا النَّفْسُ الْمُطْمَئِنَّةُ ارْجِعِي إِلَى رَبِّكِ رَاضِيَةً مَرْضِيَّةً فَادْخُلِي فِي عِبَادِي وَادْخُلِي جَنَّتِي.”

Tacherift described Zitouni as a loyal patriot who remained faithful to the principles of the November Revolution and its noble values. He emphasized that Algeria has lost a man who worked tirelessly to serve his nation and protect the memory of its martyrs and Mujahideen.

The Ministry prays for Tayeb Zitouni’s soul to rest in peace and for his family to find strength and solace in this time of grief.
